6. Features of online training
A very popular way training is to access online material via the Internet. All that is required is a standard personal computer and a good-speed internet link.
Much of the material is free to access (such as the mini-webs on this site). Other sites are subscription based where for a fee, you are able to access their material.
A very popular training format is the 'video tutorial' (have a look at ours). This either takes the form of a person showing you how to do something (mending a car perhaps) or it may be a screen recording of an application being used. For example, a training course for painting watercolours shows the painting program being used to create a picture.
Unlike the networked, personalised courses discussed in the previous page, the training may not include any interaction with a real tutor, but it has the advantage of being accessible from anywhere with an internet link and the material can be kept up to date on the web / video server.
