A tablet is a type of computer that typically is very thin, hand held, battery powered and its main interface is a glass touch screen.

The enabling technology is the touch screen as it allows a wide variety of interaction without the use of a keyboard. Its operating system is designed specifically with a touch interface in mind.

Typical commercial examples include the iPad and the Galaxy.
