Kerning

'Kerning' means to adjust the gaps between letters that make up a word.

Sometimes kerning is used for dramatic or artistic effect. Other times kerning is used to make some letter combinations look better when using a particular font.

Desktop Publishing software always has the ability to carry out kerning.
