Fireworks
An graphics application owned by Adobe. Fireworks was especially developed to make it easier to create vector and bitmap graphics for web sites.
Fireworks makes it simple to create interactive roll-over buttons and icons.
It is also good for slicing up a larger image into smaller pieces that are then put back together in a web page. This is done to allow web pages to download faster.
You can also lay out whole web pages using Fireworks.
