Short for 'Frequently Asked Questions'. There is often a 'FAQ' document available on a system that seeks to explain the most commonly asked questions regarding its use and ways to behave.

FAQ's became popular on internet forums so 'newbies' could understand the forum rules before asking 'dumb' questions. Veterans on a Forum often make scathing comments to newcomers telling them to read the FAQ.
