Beta Testing

Software application go through various stages of development, from initial idea to final product. Beta testing is the second stage of acceptance testing when external user-tester are used to spot flaws or issues with the software.

Beta testing is carried out when the code is nearly ready. Beta testing is intended to represent the experience of a normal user and expose any faults or issues with the application.

A Beta tester would use the software in every way they can think, to see if any bugs crop up. They then report to the development team that a bug has been found and what steps were taken to make it happen.
