Fatal Error
Less dramatic than it sounds, as you are unlikely to expire when you see it!
It just means the program you are using can no longer run because something has caused it to stop, so it displays its last message before crashing - 'Fatal Error encountered'.
On earlier Windows operating systems the dreaded 'Blue Screen of Death' was caused by a 'Fatal Error' in the operating system.
Many software applications also encounter 'Fatal Error' at the least convenient time, usually when you have not saved your work.
Hint: Save your work often.
