5. Qualities of a good App
What makes a good app compared to a poor one? Consider this list of qualities
- Clear purpose. It should have a well defined purpose and not try to do too many things.
- Simplicity - the user should not need any or very little instructions on how to use it.
- Multi-platform. The two key platforms are iOS (Apple) and Android. To reach the most amount of people it should be available on both.
- Good performance. Fast loading and swift response.
- Security - it should not leak private information
- Offline - there isn't always a connection so relevant features should also work offline
- Support and updates - a good app improves over time with regular updates
- Feedback - customers should be able to provide feedback to the developers
- Personalisation - it is nice to be able to adapt the app to your own preferences, for example themes and colours.
- Search - should be fast and accurate, if it is relevant to the app.
- Social media links should be easy to use, if relevant.
