4. The NOT gate
The most basic logic gate is one that causes the output to be the opposite of its input.
This is very similar to the one on the last page, the difference being that the logic gate has the word NOT in it to show what kind of logic is going on.
It works like this :
If the input is 1 then the output is 0
If the input is 0 then the output is 1
A good way of showing this is as a table showing the possible inputs and outputs
A standard way of drawing a NOT gate is as shown below
